John Mentions other Lost Souls
A recent e-mail from John:
Hi,
I found an ad for your book in last week's edition of The L.A. Weekly, which was a good place to advertise it. From there I went on to your website. Being a busybody I have several suggestions.
Under the heading, "Some Well-known Lost Souls Who Didn't Handle Life's Difficulties Well Enough," I would like to suggest some additions.
Richard Brautigan (1935-1984)
Judy Garland (1922-1969)
Karen Carpenter (1950-1983)
Margaux Hemmingway (1955-1996)
Neal Cassady (1926-1968)
Abbie Hoffman (1936-1989)
Kurt Cobain (1967-1994)
Billie Holiday (1915-1959)
Dorothy Dandridge (1922-1965)
Jack Kerouac (1922-1969)
Cass Elliot (1941-1974)
Elvis Presley (1935-1977)
I suppose people propose additions all the time. Under the heading, "Links for Lost Souls," I would like to suggest the website for "Free Will Astrology," at:
It's kind of weird and not everyone's cup of tea, but this website is not really about astrology. I think the guy is just making it up as he goes along and that's part of the fun of it. His horoscopes are funny, life affirming, and provocative, reminding us to find pleasure in the here and now.
The site also has bulletin boards and you can sign up have them e-mail you your horoscope every week. At the very worst, it can be dismissed as new-age psychobabble. I've bookmarked your site and be back and looking at your bulletin boards. If anything strikes my fancy I'll chime in.
John
