Copyright Questions???

Lately a lot of people have been asking questions about copyright.

Copyright does not protect ideas, but it does protect one's expression of an idea. Therefore, going through the necessary steps to obtain a copyright may be worthwhile if you are really concerned about others taking credit for your work. I hope this information and the following websites are of some use to you:

United States Copyright Office
http://www.loc.gov/copyright
(Offers copyright basics, registration information, searchable copyright office records, current articles on Napster, and more.)

McGraw-Hill Frequently Asked Questions about Copyright
http://www.mcgrawhill.ca/copyrightlaw/cclfaq6.html
(Features the work of Lesley Ellen Harris, a copyright and new media lawyer and consultant, whose books include Canadian Copyright Law and Digital Property: Currency of the 21st Century.)

The Copyright Website
http://www.benedict.com/basic/basic/notice.htm
(This site dispels some copyright myths, and is very easy to navigate.)

Crash Course in Copyright
http://www.utsystem.edu/ogc/intellectualproperty/cprtindx.htm
(Fair use, who owns what, etc. and a crash course tutorial.)
