Susan M. Brackney lives to help creative mavericks navigate the road less traveled.

Brackney graduated from Indiana University in 1994 with a B.A. with distinction in English and a certificate in women's studies (which she immediately put to good use as a furniture salesperson.) Brackney's career as an independent artist and writer has been punctuated with odd jobs: waitress, organic farm hand, library circulation desk clerk, telemarketer, corporate suit.

She is the author of:

The Lost Soul Companion: A Book of Comfort and Constructive Advice for Black Sheep, Square Pegs, Struggling Artists, and Other Free Spirits

The Not-So-Lost Soul Companion: More Hope, Strength, and Strategies for Artists and Artists-at-Heart

The Insatiable Gardener's Guide: How to Grow Anything & Everything Indoors, Year 'Round
